My Daytime Skin/Makeup Routine

Hi all!

as my first proper content post - I'm going to talk about my daytime skin/makeup routine.
As it's daytime and I prefer to go a little lighter on my face than at nighttime, I do not use cream contours to contour my face. I do however, use powder contours and a highlighter along with foundation and concealer. The list of products I use are below.

The first thing I use on my skin before applying any foundation of any sort is my moisturiser:
La Roche Posay: Effaclar Duo +
After I let this dry into my face, I apply a primer - I use Mac Prep + Prime Natural Radiance primer in Radiant Pink.
I then apply my foundation. For my foundation I do use quite a heavy foundation - force of habit. I got very used to Mac foundation and moving from Mac to lighter foundations or drugstore brand foundations is a hard thing to do but I am currently looking into lighter foundations with just as much coverage and when I find a good one, I will update on it here.
For now, I use Mac Studio Fix Fluid in NC20. I know this is quite a heavy foundation but it is very, very good and gives me better coverage than any foundation I've ever used - especially because I do have trouble with skin discolouration and  some hyperpigmentation.
I use a Mac 187 Fibre Face Brush for this.
After this, I start to highlight my face. I know a lot of people tend to contour their face first and then highlight but I prefer to highlight first, contour and then touch up any highlighting afterwards too.
I use a concealer to start - Mac Pro Longwear concealer but another good concealer is Mac's Studio Finish concealer. I use NC15 - the lightest shade so I can get quite a light highlight.
I start with my eyes, concealing underneath them, and up past the bottom of my brows so I can get a sharp look - especially if I am wearing winged liquid eyeliner. I fan out the concealer between my brows and up into the centre of my forehead, down the bridge of my nose and also around the sides of my nose where I tend to get any redness. I also apply it to the center of my chin and around my lipline. For this, I use a Mac 194 Concealer Brush for this but you can also use a 195. This is quite a thick concealer so it has very good coverage and as it is a Pro Longwear concealer, it lasts pretty much all day.
When contouring my face, I prefer using powder contours for daytime looks. I use either 2 shades: Mac Harmony or Mac Baby Don't Go. At nighttime I do use cream contours also such as AYU concealers but not during the day. For these powder blushes, I use a Mac 168 Large Angled Contour Brush which I find amazing because it really helps to make contouring easy. The angle on it is so handy for defining your cheek bones. I use these contour powders on my cheeks, around my hairline and in the corners of my chin. I do not use it down the sides of my nose.

And finally, for touching up my highlight - I use Mac "Soft and Gentle" Mineralize Skin Finish powder. For this, I use a Callanberry Powder Brush No. 18 Brush for this. I brush this along my cheekbones but nowhere else, but you could use it on your forehead and nose too.
For powdering my face, I just use Rimmel Clear Complexion Translucent powder with the same Callanberry brush.

I hope you guys liked my first post - my daytime makeup/skin routine.
Yay! I'm so excited that my first post is up!
